I want to start off today’s blog post by wishing everybody a Happy Easter and I hope it has been a great one! However, today is also special for another reason. As of 8 o’clock tonight, the 2013 Major League Baseball season will have officially started when the Texas Rangers travel to the newly American League Houston Astros! I absolutely cannot wait for the season to start, and with that, comes expectations and personal preferences within the league. Being an Indians fan, my expectations haven’t been very high as of late(the past decade or so), and in terms of my personal preferences, there are those players that I love and those that I just can’t stand. Of the preferences, it is the latter that I enjoy discussing the most, and that is probably because I know exactly who my most hated player is without a doubt. With writing this blog, I would love to know who is your most hated player in all of baseball, but to get things started, I’ll go first.
For as long as I can remember, I usually respect and like most baseball players, except for one. His name is A.J. Pierzynski and he currently plays for the Texas Rangers, who kick off the MLB season tonight. You may be wondering why I can’t stand Mr. Pierzynski so I will make it pretty simple. He is a major ass-hole. He made his debut with the Twins in 1998, then spent 2004 with the San Francisco Giants before he became a member of the Chicago White Sox in 2005. Everywhere he has been, A.J. has been a really pain in the neck and an absolute nightmare to deal with if you are the front office, but especially the media. He has always been one of those guys that knows how good he is, and lets everybody know it. I am guessing that Pierzynski was that popular jock jerk in high school and probably picked on the little guy and made his life hell. I was never the little guy, but I cannot stand pieces of crap like that.
I will admit that I have tried to give Anthony John a second chance in my heart, but every time he screws it up by calling out a player or coach, or just being completely rude with the media and whatever organization he is apart of. When he arrived in Chicago is when my dislike really exceeded. He bleached his hair (only ass-holes and boy bands do that), always had something to say to the umpires and damn near called out the entire league! I am usually a fan of the confident attitude, but this wasn’t confidence, this was unearned cockiness. That has been his game for years, and I am sick of it. Heck, I even went to a Tribe versus White Sox game last year just so I could yell and point at A.J. Pierzynski, and he didn’t even show up! What a pansy! I actually lost some respect for the Texas Rangers this off-season when they signed Pierzynski. I always had a special place in my heart for the Rangers and Ron Washington, but whoever is willing to sign that punk to a contract really tweaks my melons.
Now that everybody knows who makes me cringe in the MLB, I want to know whom you can’t stand. I will eventually post a blog about who your favorite ballplayer is, but for right now, let me know who makes you puke. As for Anthony John Pierzynski, I just wanted you to know how much I really loathe you and as for hated baseball players, you are the crème de la crème, you steaming pile of manure.
In closing, Anthony John, you make my balls itch.
