Sports do a lot of things for a lot of people. For some people, sports offer a valuable escape from the tough situations that they are facing in life. But what does it look like when sports reach out to you with support and encouragement? It looks like this.
Several Ohio State players took time out of there day to send the above videos to a little guy named Joshua Chambers, a four-year-old who is suffering from leukemia. The effort was captained by Joshua Perry, but a total of seven Buckeye players appear in the video.
Perry learned about Joshua Chambers’ situation from his mother and decided to offer him some encouragement. Perry, hailing from Galena, OH, understands the fact that Ohio State football is the biggest thing in the state, and he clearly wants to use that platform to touch as many lives as he can.
Stories like this one are a breath of fresh air. So often we get caught up and downright lost in how our team is performing (especially someone who is a Cubs fan AND a Browns fan) or in the never ending flow of ego that pours from most sports programs.
So to Joshua Perry, Devan Bogard, Craig Fada, Curtis Grant, Doran Grant, Darron Lee, and Raekwon McMillan…Our Sports Report will be pulling for you guys a little harder this year. And of course, we award all of you with the pre-season Grown Ass Man Award.
Also, a friendly reminder to join us on July 5th for the 2014 ‘Our Sports Report’ Wiffle Ball Summer Classic in lovely Fredericktown, Ohio. For more information on playing in or sponsoring the tournament, PLEASE CLICK HERE! Hope to see you on July 5th!
