Here’s the deal. I’m halfway to North Carolina, so this one is going to be short, sweet, and to the point. Plus, you’re here for WINNERS, not some lame betting story from the week before.
Let’s dive right into the good stuff.
Last Week: 4-1
Season Record: 18-11-1
Akron @ Buffalo
Saturday 10/13 | 12:00PM
ATS: Buffalo -11
The Play: Buffalo -11
I don’t care what the number is, Buffalo is the FAR better team. Their defensive line will be able to create pressure and havoc all day against the Zips weak offensive line. The Bulls might be the best team in the MAC.
Oklahoma State @ Kansas State
Saturday 10/13 | 12:00PM
ATS: Oklahoma State -7
The Play: Oklahoma State -7
This is not the usual Bill Snyder team that you can bank on covering as a home underdog. This team has real problems and will be short handed in the first half as one of their starting linebackers is suspended due to a targeting call last week. Oklahoma State will get going early and often. Plus, check the numbers, Mike Gundy teams rarely lose in October.
Michigan State @ Penn State
Saturday 10/13 | 3:30PM
ATS: Penn State -13
The Play: Penn State -13
Penn State, in Happy Valley, coming off a Bye Week, and an emotional loss to rival Ohio State. This is a feel play. There’s no chance this team comes out flat. Plus, Michigan State simply isn’t very good. Their offensive line is one of the worse in the Big Ten and that’ll be exploited this afternoon.
The big line initially scared me, but consider that Penn State also needs some style points with the first College Football Playoff rankings waiting in the horizon.
Miami @ Virginia
Saturday 10/13 | 7:00PM
ATS: Miami -7
The Play: Virginia +7
Taking a quick look at the advanced analytics, both these teams are towards the tops in the country at creating HAVOC. The difference, when looking at a simple box score, is that new Miami quarterback N’Kosi Perry is turnover prone. Virginia will create those turnover opportunities and keep this one close, if they don’t win outright.
Colorado @ USC
Saturday 10/13 | 10:30PM
ATS: USC -7
The Play: USC -7
Another home favorite coming off a Bye Week, noticing a trend? In my opinion, Colorado is one of the most overrated teams in the country. Yes, they are undefeated, but they don’t have any quality wins. USC’s freshman quarterback JT Daniels has been progressing nicely throughout the early part of the season. I expect him to have a big performance in this one.
As I mentioned above, I’m in North Carolina again. So we are having my fiancé give some drink recommendations. My Pittsburgh body is confused by the beautiful North Carolina weather and thinks it’s still summer.
For the Winners:
Nothing is better on a nice summer day than a glass of Rosé. The preferred wine of the world’s greatest athlete, LeBron James. If it’s good enough for the King, it’s good enough for us. (Unlike King James, please do not let your children drink it.)
For the Losers:
One of the most basic drinks on the market, Whiteclaw. Sure it’s delicious and all the rage, but it comes in a can. You know what isn’t classy? Drinks in cans.
